Shipping Your Instrument
Please contact us before you ship your instrument to us. It helps if we can anticipate the arrival of your instrument and offer customized packing tips.
Please do NOT ship your horn in a case. The best way to ship most instruments is to wrap them in thick bubble wrap and ship them in a cardboard box filled in with styrofoam peanuts. We receive and ship horns this way because, compared to shipping an instrument in its case, this technique actually decreases the chance that your horn will be damaged, and reduces the shipping costs as well. Sure, cases are great for carrying your horn around, but only Anvil cases protect your horn as well as this, and they're much more expensive, and heavier too!
For large horns such as euphoniums or tubas, be sure to put a roll of bubble wrap in the bell so it sticks out. This way if the horn is dropped on its bell the wrap prevents the bell from taking the impact.
The cost of shipping in both directions, from and back to the customer, is paid by the customer.
